Petbarn has provided top-notch pet care in Australia for two decades, understanding the importance of delivering nothing but the finest for our furry companions. However, the rise of convenience supermarkets with premium offerings was beginning to impact their business. Post-COVID insight had also revealed the accelerated emotional bond between pets and their owners, becoming cherished family members deserving the same level of nutrition. To support this, Providore included premium pet food packaging design to reflect its super-premium quality and appeal to discerning pet owners.

We helped Petbarn to capitalise on this by creating Providore, a super-premium, own label dog and cat food brand that embraces the human raw food trend for discerning pet lovers. Made from natural, sustainably sourced, minimally processed ingredients from New Zealand’s farms and oceans, Providore enables pet owners to provide the equivalent culinary experience found in the human household without sacrificing their time.

A culinary delight

To help entice consumers away from standard supermarket offerings, Providore’s premium pet food packaging design puts ingredient quality and health benefits first, aligning with premium-tier cues. The clean label aesthetic caters to pet owners’ growing interest in understanding their pet’s nutritional intake (83% of dog owners read their dogs’ food labels) whilst reducing their environmental footprint.

Our fresh, distinctive packaging design aligns with the visual language of premium restaurants and clean eating cookbooks with uncluttered layouts, clean lines, simple typography, and elevated luxury materials with culinary cues. Fresh, unfiltered food photography beautifully demonstrates the whole raw ingredients and natural qualities of the finished product, just as the owners would want for themselves.
