Codral is the leading Cold, Flu & Cough brand in Australia. For 65 years, it has helped Aussies get prepared and carry on with what matters most. To expand the range for children and parents, Kenvue launched a new paediatric line. Codral Kids Medicine Design played a key role in creating age-specific treatments for pain, fever, cold, flu and cough while building trust with families. As a result, Codral Kids was introduced as a playful and reassuring range designed for young patients and their parents.

Flipping the script to empower sick kids
Sick children often feel vulnerable. Parents can feel helpless too. But what if we could flip the script?
This simple idea led to the creation of The Codral Kids crew – a team of superheroes designed to create instant emotional connection. Each hero represents a benefit, from fighting fever to clearing sinuses and soothing coughs. This helped children understand and engage with the product through storytelling.
From a child’s perspective, medicine became more fun and familiar. The characters were also designed to match the age of the audience, making them easy to relate to.
Building a long term platform for brand growth
The idea also created a strong platform for future growth. New heroes could easily join the team as the range expanded. It also created opportunities for communication across many touchpoints.
Over time, the Codral Kids world became a valuable long term brand asset. It helped build loyalty and recognition well beyond the cold season.
